New. Year

Today is the last day of 2017, and I think there are 3 kinds of people....

#1 You are frantically cleaning, prepping, clearing, and writing your goals, because you know you should have been doing it for the last week (or month if we are being realistic) but you didn't, so now is better than nothing and you tell yourself you work better this way. You know, under horrendous amounts of pressure that you put on yourself. What?? You do!!

#2 You did it all last week (or over the last month) you have been reading blogs about it, you got books for Christmas on how to do life better, you have you Tubed how to clean out your wardrobe, your goals are written and you are ready to sing in the new year with one or two responsible champagnes with a clean house, clean life, clean mind ready to wake up fresh as a daisy to get started tomorrow and go for a run.

or #3 You do neither because you think its silly, life will be the same as it was today when tomorrow hits and you just get done what you need to get done and thats thats. You are basically unbelievably logical, you don't believe in Santa or the Easter bunny. You do all the little jobs as you go through out the year and are always working on something but never put pressure on yourself whilst still being proud of what you have achieved. A Unicorn, you're basically a Unicorn.

Now I hate to categorise anyone, don't let me put baby in a corner! But personally, Im half of number one and number two. You may ask me "Stace how do you figure that?" Weeelllll, I'm the one that buys all the books (which are clutter I need to get rid of the next year, go figure) I watch alllllll the you tube videos, but I never actually get around to doing it or completing it before today. The day of all days......... DUM DUM DUMMMMM

But before I start the gruelling jobs I thought I would procrastinate a little further and sit down to run you through what was an epic year. A year that although was difficult in many ways for me has been the best to date. Apparently life has this sick joke where sometimes to get the ups you have to weather the downs. Whats that called? Ah yeah, balance.

So this year, we have......... (and in no particular order)

* updated our logo and branding (delightfully beautiful glass USBS)
* Started (whilst it has been slightly sporadic) writing blogs
* Launched the website
* Photographed a cookbook (A COOKBOOK!! DID YOU KNOW? HAVE I TOLD YOU YET?? lol)
* Launched the birthing packages
* Photographed TWO bubbas entering this world already (The second blog will be up soon)
* Secured more births for next year (it's going to be a bit crazy, but amazing)
* Started to finally feel comfortable with loading to social media often and liking it.
* Securing a travel blog job to Morocco to photograph a yoga retreat (pretty sweet gig)
* Upgraded all my gear to easier, lighter and less intrusive equipment which will help me capture your special moments. (Ohhhh new things.... ahhhhh)

2018, I almost feel like writing you a letter. To say how grateful I am for you and everything that is happening already and to welcome all the babies coming that I get to meet. To thank you for all the travel and life experiences that are coming my way along with my partner in crime Dane. I can't really comprehend it yet, there are so many things on the cards, as well as life lessons. Im not really sure where to start.

But I know when I have to start..... Now, because its almost next year. I have so much to do. Like washing, and vacuuming, and goal writing, and getting organised because 2018 isn't going to sort itself, thats my job and with these births booked in I will need to be organised lol.

So I want to finish by saying thank you to you. My clients, people who just like to read what I write, or people who just read what I write but don't really like it but they are my friends so they feel they have to (sorry, but you do have to lol) or people who just watch my work come through their newsfeed's. Thank you for such an amazing year, you helped me find my feet, find my direction, and keep me on track to what was an amazing year that will stay in the record books for me forever.

I love what I do, but sometimes you do need the push from people to keep going because when you love it, you care, and when you care, you have a fear of doing it wrong. And sometimes, sometimes that fear can take hold of you. But its when you push through it, thats when good things happen.

Happy New Year guys, please stay safe, but just be so damn grateful that next year (tomorrow) we all get to give it another crack. You got this.

Stace.
