It's been a little while since I have posted a blog.
I've been thinking about how I want to do this blog thing. I don't want it to be about me convincing you that I should be your photographer (Even though I should be). I want you to get something from it, If you are going to take the time to read this then you may as well get interesting info or the occasional tip and trick.
So that had me scratching my head at a different way to approach it. We live in a isolated place but sometimes we don't realise we have some pretty talented people in this town and I want to start spreading the word, there have been countless times when I have been wanting something and not wanting to go online. Its impersonal, you can't see what you are buying, half the time it costs you more for freight. And people are just better. So I will ALWAYS go local if I can. It is my pledge that I will put my purchasing abilities to the test and start bringing you a local business once a month. If there are any that you think I may not know of then please drop me a line or comment on the FB post so I can get in touch! Let's grow this into a resource that everyone can use.
So from my small business to your's, and from my home walls to yours I would like to introduce you to Katherine from Hedland Design & Stunning Walls.
At first when I meet Katherine (the classy looking blonde above) she was professional, approachable and god damned good at her job. After working on my logo a few years ago Kat (as I so affectionately and casually refer to her) has become one of my closest friends as well as someone who understands the pressures of running a small business, having someone to talk about stuff with is more valuable than I realised when I started this journey. She know's what you will need and how she can make you unique in the market and show your clients how valuable and effective you can be to them. I think thats just a tad important. Especially in my line of work.
As all over achievers do, she decided one business (Hedland Design, see all links below) wasnt enough and she had a brilliant idea for a functional product that is removable, reusable and if i'm being honest just bloody cool while being perfect for renting, They are custom walls dots!
I'm so proud of Kat and her Husband Troy who launched their website www.stunningwalls.com.au yesterday, you can load your own portraits, business logos or choose from some pre-loaded designs. Her 10 years experience, her Honor's qualification, and her love for the industry in my opinion aren't celebrated enough and so I am taking the time today to say.......
Kat, you are a bad ass boss lady, a great friend and business person with one of your main strengths other than being talented is that you are a damn hard worker. I am proud to be apart of your journey and can't wait to see what you do in the next few years.
(Don't forget me when you're famous please).
Head on over to the site and take a look around. I'm sure you will be like me and be running out of wall space soon. I now have a big wall dot in my bathroom (goes fine with the heat from the shower), on my office wall, in my bedroom and now on my office door. It felt necessary.
